Do You Believe In Ghosts?

In recent times, many networks have created television shows about the paranormal (Ghost Hunters, Ghost Hunters International, Paranormal Witness, Haunted Collector, Fact or Faked, etc.), especially ghosts. Most of these shows enjoy a success that rivals many TV dramas and have a dedicated fan base that crosses a wide ranging demographic. This can either be attributed to the fact that there are a lot of people who believe in ghosts or that there are a lot of people curious about the paranormal. I must admit that I patronize a couple of these shows from time to time and it is more out of curiosity than belief. What's really strange to me is that there are so many people in America who believe in ghosts although the majority of people in the U.S. still identify their selves as Christian. This beguiles me because Christians are supposed to believe that all souls are at rest until God awakens them on "judgment day". How do Christians reconcile belief in free roaming spirits of the dead with the biblical doctrine? I don't personally believe in ghosts but I don't have the evidence necessary to say definitively that they don't exist. I therefore, don't rule out the possibility of there existence while remaining an extreme skeptic.
